Madison is a restaurant, tapas and cocktail bar and has some absolutely phenomenal views over St. Paul’s Cathedral. Located on the 6th floor with a great wine and champagne list to suit every budget, this is a great place to experience at sunset!
This is not your average pub. It was transformed from a worn-down ice cream shop into this traditional beer garden with a contemporary feel. Located on the riverside in Richmond, it has a prime location and is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink (they also have a German sausage platter to die for!)

The Ship is situated in Wandsworth and is hidden in among some busy streets. However, this urban retreat will surprise you – there is a popular outside area overlooking the river and it is one of the most popular watering holes in London for enjoying a good ‘Sunday Funday’. There are always people here and the atmosphere is fantastic with music pumping out of the speakers and live bands some evenings! This is a place that is really worth a visit on a Sunday (especially if you do not have work the next day!) If you cannot make the Sunday, the Saturdays are equally as good! There is a BBQ outside with great burgers and they do a delicious Sunday Roast.
If you want to enjoy a drink outside with table service and a nice view, you should try Boundary Rooftop at the Boundary Project in Shoreditch. While it may seem a little bit pricey, if you’re willing to push the boat out for a high-end rooftop bar, it’s definitely worth it!
‘The location features the highest outdoor dining terraces in Europe, offering unparalleled, 360 degree views of the City.’ Located in the Heron Tower, Sushi Samba has fantastic views, great cocktails and an altogether superb atmosphere - this is one not to be missed! It is a great place to go for a drink but the food is also phenomenal.
The Phene is located in Chelsea. There is a lovely outdoor area, perfect for a date or a nice catch up with friends. The best time to go here is on a sunny day as the outside area closes at 10pm. You are recommended to get there early if you want a seat outside as they run a first come first served policy and you don’t want to miss the opportunity to sit in the sun.
The Prospect of Whitby is London's oldest riverside pub dating back to 1520. This is a very traditional pub and has a beer garden, a terrace and a small balcony ideal for a sunny day in London. The pub is located in Wapping with a view over the River Thames and is the place to go if you want to feel as if you have travelled back in time.
The Serpentine is a great place to sit after a long day in Hyde Park. There are deck chairs and tables outside with a great view over the lake! Located in Hyde Park, it is a relaxing place to go if you want to be away from the roads and noise you may have to deal with in other parts of central location. They do cocktails and wine as well as food, making it the perfect pit stop!
The Spaniards Inn is located in Hampstead and has a fantastic atmosphere, great food and a lovely outdoor area. This is a very old and traditional pub with creaky floors and low ceilings inside. Worth a visit if you are in the area!
This is a lovely clean pub in Hampstead with good food, a variety of ales and a nice outside area. Generally speaking, it is busy enough to have a great atmosphere but quiet enough not to have to push through crowds!
Queen Elizabeth Roof Garden is on the Southbank Centre, located in between Waterloo and Embankment tube stations. If you are looking for a place to relax in the sun, this is a great place to go. It is only open in the summer months as it is not really suited for the winter due to the large uncovered outdoor space. The views are great and it is definitely worth a visit as it is one of the most central rooftop bars London
Radio is a rooftop bar situated on 10th floor of the ME London Hotel near Temple tube station. It has striking views across the River Thames and London’s iconic skyline. The rooftop bar is accessible via a dedicated express lift. There is a dress code in this bar which means you cannot wear trainers or sportswear.
If you want to treat someone special, then you should definitely take them here! The outdoor area is really nice, the cocktails are great and there is always a cool vibe. The prices aren’t the friendliest, so if you are on a budget we recommend checking before you order. The restaurants inside are also great if you want to have something fantastic to eat! Aqua is situated on Regent Street.
Coq d'Argent is located near Bank. There is a fantastic outdoor area to enjoy in the sunshine with a nice cool drink! There is a great atmosphere when the sun is out – it is a place that should not be missed during your stay in London.
If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy the London skyline, then try this sky lounge on the 12th floor of the Hilton in Tower Hill. The views are fantastic and you can enjoy some superb cocktails here while enjoying the city in all its glory!
The Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street is a fantastic public space at the top of the 'Walkie Talkie' building, with incredible 360 degree views across the City of London. You are directly across the water from the Shard, so you really get a great view. Access to Sky Garden is free of charge and you can order drinks and cocktails there, but make sure you book before you go, as it is rare to be able to get in as a walk in guest.
