If you love roast beef and large portions of food, then Hawksmoor may just be the perfect place for you. They have had a fantastic restaurant in Spitalfields for years, but they now have further restaurants in Knightsbridge, Borough and the Guildhall in the City of London too! This means that everyone can indulge in their fantastic food without having to travel across London to get there. The roast beef is cooked over an open fire on a spit and is accompanied by delicious duck fat roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, carrots, greens, roasted shallots & garlic and lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy (yum!). They do a delicious roast chicken and fish/lobster alternatives are also available. If you are accompanied by non meat-eaters – don’t fear! They have roast vegetables with Cashel Blue cheese for veggies to enjoy. To make the most of this experience you should go in hungry, however if you’re not all that hungry we would recommend sharing one dish! This is a place not to be missed!

One place that we cannot miss off this list is Roast. With a name like this, you could only expect exceptionally good roasts, and that is exactly what you get! This is more of a restaurant than a pub and although the price tag may be slightly higher, it is most definitely worth every single penny. Everything on the menu is exceptional but to name just a few; they have a delicious roast Swainson house chicken, slow-roasted free-range pork belly, slow-roasted Scottish blackface lamb and for vegetarians there is a White bean and spinach casserole with a baked duck egg. The menu is subject to change so do call or check the website in advance for exact dishes.

This is another wonderful pub with a fantastic selection of roasts. On the menu they have incredibly inventive dishes such as a roast butternut squash with gorgonzola, pumpkin red onion and fried sage which is perfect for vegetarians. They also have chicken, fish, beef and pork options available, accompanied by all the traditional roast trimmings. The pub is located near Angel tube station which is near Kings Cross. Although not the most centrally positioned pub, it is perfect if you are using connections to or from Kings Cross. Sometimes it really is worth exploring the outskirts of central London and this pub is the perfect excuse to venture a bit further out.
